WordPress community events like WordCamp are one such platform that creates the space for WordPress enthusiasts to communicate, learn, and inspire. This year the WordCamp Ahmedabad took place in the prestigious Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, situated in the heart of Ahmedabad city in India on the 9th of December. The fourth edition of the WordCamp was based on the theme “Your Path to Growth”.

The event brought more than 1100 WordPress lovers under the same roof where we got the opportunity to interact with various people belonging to different WordPress companies, meet with students who wanted to be a part of this community, and learn from experts about different areas and segments of WordPress and whatnot. One of the biggest attractions of the WordCamp Ahmedabad 2023 was the After Party that was held on 9th December after the event. Read the article to get all the details of the fun-filled event.

What is WordCamp?

The term WordCamp is used to address the community-organized events that are based on WordPress. WordCamp covers almost everything about WordPress including the techniques of using WordPress, building WordPress themes and plugins, maintaining and securing WordPress sites, and more. WordCamp is organized all around the world. People who are somehow associated with WordPress including WordPress users, developers, themes and plugin builders, and enthusiasts participate in WordCamp to exchange knowledge, share ideas, and build connections. Who is WordCamp for? WordCamp is for everyone interested in knowing WordPress or somehow linked with the platform.

WordCamp holds a special place in every WordPress enthusiast's mind and the 4th edition of WordCamp Ahmedabad 2023 was extra special because it was the first WordCamp in Ahmedabad that happened after the pandemic. WordCamp Ahmedabad gave a memorable experience to everyone who joined it. As a platinum sponsor, we enjoyed every bit, starting from preparing for the event, setting up our booth, interacting with various companies and attendees to attending the after-party.

The event kickstarted with the pre-event party that was scheduled on the 8th of December. It offered an amazing opportunity for sponsors to know and build connections with each other. The mesmerizing venue and mouth-watering food simply amped up everyone’s mood. All the booths were decorated and entrepreneurs along with their team representatives were ready to welcome the attendees with lots of activities and interactions on the event day on 9th December. Attendees started pouring in from 8 am onwards. They communicated, collected swags, discussed opportunities, shared new ideas, gained knowledge, and most importantly built networks. Event Highlights:

WP Event Manager at Ahmedabad WordCamp 2023

This year WP Event Manager graced the Ahmedabad WordCamp as a platinum sponsor. It was WP Event Manager’s debut at the WordCamp that gave us the scope to explore the WordPress community closely. The happiest part of joining the event was that some of our employees met for the first time as they work remotely.

Setting up the booth

With lots of energy and hope, we started our journey on 8th of December and reached the WordCamp venue on time to start setting up our booth for the next day. We interacted with our fellow sponsors who were also busy preparing their booths. The preparation was fun as we all started communicating with each other and suddenly the people who were strangers a few hours ago became familiar to us.

The event day

The event day started with a traditional Gujarati breakfast which was very tasty. The attendees were standing in long queues to enter the event premises.  We had a great time talking to the attendees as we came to know that a lot of people have used our plugins and they are thoroughly satisfied with it. The best thing was that we did not even have to introduce ourselves as they came to us saying “we have used your plugins”.

What we have observed during attendee interactions:
  • Many of them have used our plugins and they are happy with it. 
  • Most of them have appreciated our plugins for their customizability as they helped them fulfill their customer requirements. 
  • We received maximum appreciation for our Calendar plugin. 
  • WooCommerce integration has greatly added credibility to our brand. 
  • Many companies want to collaborate with us.

Event Activities: The event organizers have arranged several activities for the sponsors and attendees that included the following:

After Party

We had a gala time at the after-party with an amazing crowd, a super-entertaining DJ, and appetizing food. It took place in Boxpark which is one of the most happening party destinations of Ahmedabad. There was a spacious dance floor where attendees grooved to the beat. The best thing about the party was that almost all the attendees matched their footsteps with the Garba beats including the Yoast SEO team. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wrapping up

It was WP Event Manager’s debut at the WordCamp events. We explored the events, interacted with various companies, their team, and the owners, attended speakers sessions, gained and shared knowledge, built connections, and did everything to make the most of this opportunity. We hope to continue with our WordCamp journey and join as many WordCamps as possible in the future.
